Radiation Exposure
Today I received an email from a young man trying to get help from all of us who spent time on Enewetak. His father has had problems with cancer since he left the islands. I will be attaching a link to his email when I get his O.K. I urge all of you to respond to give help and hope that the government will change the regulations to help the needy troops that have had serious health problems due to their service on Enewetak. We need to make changes to the legislation, and the only way to do this is to band together and give them hell. I have added another link to a site he sent me with the info on the "Radiation Exposure and Compensation" and "National Cancer Advisory" .

I also replied to someone asking for assistance for their father. I wish him well.
i spent time on enewetak ,runit and enjabi.in 1979,i didn't realize taht i could be a atomic veteran. my son who is 30 now had a brain tumor,and i also had cancer removed from my right temple in 1996.could it be related.ireally don't know.served with the 84th engineering battalion,from 542nd maint. out of ft. lewis.would love to hear from someone that could give me insight. thank you tom morrison

does anyone have any photo's of the tshirts that we bought at PX while we were there -- I have been looking through old photo's but do not have any--wife probably threwthem out thinking they weren't appropriate for the kids to see... Do have some good pictures of the damage after the storm in Jan 79 though-- Wanted to get some tshirts printed
I was there in late 77 - april 78 and I am starting to have problems with my whole body I was in the 17th engenier battalion FT Hood TX. How many people are having problems? Is there a link for support for the people that where involved with the clean-up?
your not the only one, started having problems almost 10 years after i left the island. i'm dealing with the V.A. now on the claims, even though they denied them.have to put in a appeal. and give them more information.please feel free to contact me.

My father was at Enewetak from 78-79 and he passed recently. He too had cancer at one point. I was hoping to know more about my father's time at Enewetak. His name was Robert J. Sheehan and he was a SP4 Machinist. In the photos that I found from his time there, he looked so happy and it's refreshing to see that my father was happy because it seems like after the Army he was miserable and could never catch a break. i'm looking for anyone wwho spent time on the "ENEWETAK CLEAN UP PROJECT" between 1977-1980 when it was completed.if you have had any illness such as RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS,MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN,SKIN CANCER, MEMORY LOSS, SENSITIVE LIPS FROM THE SUN.OR IF ANY OF YOUR OFF SPRING HAVE A MEDICAL PROBLEMS.TUMORS BIRTH DEFECTS.
i would like for you to email me your name and when you were on enewetak and what problems you have encountered over the years.i would like to submit your email as proof that we have had exposure to radiation, which has showed up years later.either with you or your off spring.

I was there in 77 advance party , I have had bladder cancer 3 timed and kidney cancer and had part of my et kidney removed , also suffer from scoliosis of the spine and much joint pain , plaird1327@gmail.com , hope this finds you all well. Paul Laird 2nd.
