This was the engineer bar built out of sheer need to blow off steam.

Thanks Chuck,
Considering the only thing to do on the tiny island of Lojwa was to sit around, drink, tell stories and wonder when we would get off the place, it was pretty cool.

I was on Lojwa from april 78 til sept ran the MARS station and on Enewetak worked in the motor pool until mar 79 306 straight days there.
Does anyone remember the bonfire that was built. used the pallets that the bags of cement were shipped in on and what ever else that burned, the fire was seen on lojwa and the MPs thought we had set a hangar on fire.

Mike, Great site. Those were the good old days. The picture of our bar really brings back the memories.Especially the one Christmas party, all night long. Hope everyone is well.
